Religious Cults

Definition: "a particular system of religious worship, especially with reference to its rites and ceremonies."

An Introduction

Cults involve a group of people who practice a belief that is seen as "illegal" or "unaccepted by society". Today, a cult can be defined by different standards than in the past. Today, a cult is not defined by what a particular belief is or how many people are involved in the group - it is defined by the methods used to enlist people into joining, converting them into the specific beliefs, and how the members are kept in the organization.  Read more about cults.
